A series of digital story apps based on American Greetings’ Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Bitty Adventures TV series are in the works at New York-based Cupcake Digital.

The Strawberry Shortcake Berry Special Enhanced Story Apps, which will be available in the iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and NOOK Apps stores starting next month, join Cupcake’s growing batch of TV-based mobile apps. Earlier this month, Cupcake signed on to create CCSS-standard educational apps for the Animal Planet brand, and in January the company was commissioned to bring preschool series Tickety Toc to digital life via 12 storybook apps .

The four Strawberry Shortcake apps will feature three reading modes, synched narration, text highlighting and Common Core State Standards (CCSS) educational games centered on numbers, shapes and letter recognition. The apps also include danceable music videos.
