Little Airplane Productions is extending the licensing reach of the Small Potatoes preschool series with the appointment of Jada Toys as its new global master toy partner (excluding China and South Korea).

Jada, which also licenses Power Ranges and Hello Kitty, will manufacture and distribute Small Potatoes toys including plush, electronic plush toys play sets, figures, musical instruments and inflatable toys.

The deal follows the US broadcast premiere of Small Potatoes in February on Disney Junior and last month’s retail debut of branded products. Penguin Young Readers Group released the first three books – the board book Meet The Band, The Small Potatoes Rock Spudstock a storybook, and Stuck on Potatoes a sticker book  – of its 12-book program on April 18.

Universal, meanwhile, is set to release the DVD of the film Meet the Small Potatoes this summer.

Small Potatoes currently airs in 23 countries and has a garnered a strong digital presence with more than 1.6 million likes on its Facebook page.
