Preschool digital channel Sprout has launched on Cablevision’s Optimum TV and Optimum TV to GO offerings in the US. The latter is Cablevision’s TV Everywhere platform, which will run 60 hours of Sprout programming each month.
Sprout Originals, such as The Chica Show, Pajanimals, The Sunny Side Up Show and The Good Night Show, as well as properties like Caillou and Sesame Street, will be available on channel 127 on Optimum TV or online on TV to Go, which will also offer 15 hours of Spanish-language content.
A partnership between NBCUniversal, PBS and Apax Funds, Sprout is currently available in more than 50 million US homes, and the channel’s VOD offering is considered the number-one on-demand service for younger children with more than one billion views.
Sprout recently made strides in its multi-platform strategy, announcing an original series that coincides with smartphone and tablet play.
