After inspiring a successful web series and a crop of licensing deals, the Talking Friends app is making its foray into the book world.

Parragon Books will publish the first Talking Friends annual following a deal brokered by Beanstalk Licensing and Cyprus-based  mobile entertainment company OutFit 7. The annual will launch in the UK this July.

Talking Friends currently garners more than 170 million monthly active users. Each of the Talking Friends apps features an animated 3D character that comes to life when poked, tickled and played with on mobile devices. The annuals will extend those personalities of each character.

In related news, just last week Disney announced at its Digital NewFront that its Talking Friends YouTube series has been viewed more than 130 million times.
