Disney Channel has upped development exec Adam Bonnett, who has spearheaded such shows as Hannah Montana and Shake it Up, to the newly created role of EVP of original programming at Disney Channels Worldwide.
A 16-year Disney vet, Bonnett has led the House of Mouse’s programming development team that has churned out a host of original hit series such as Good Luck Charlie, Jessie, Shake It Up, Austin & Ally and A.N.T. Farm – all of which comprised the top-five live-action TV series among kids ages six to 11 last year. Bonnett also developed newer series Dog With A Blog, Liv and Maddie and the original movies Teen Beach Movie and Cloud 9.
In his new role, Bonnett will continue to oversee all live-action development and current original series and movies for Disney Channel and Disney XD as well as casting and talent relations for those channels. He will report to Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer at Disney Channels Worldwide.
