As Penguin Children’s UK gears up for new published properties of popular brands like Angry Birds, the company has promoted Richard Haines to the role of acquisitions and new business manager.
Haines joined the publisher’s media and entertainment division in January 2012 and has since been responsible for finding and developing upcoming brands partners while also growing Penguin’s publishing portfolio of digital properties such as Skylanders and Moshi Monsters. Last month, for instance, Penguin was named the exclusive global publisher for each new Mind Candy property and IP it develops over the next three years.
In his new role, Haines will also assume responsibility for finding and developing new IP. Penguin is also recruiting a licensing publishing executive to report directly to Haines.
