Sesame Street leads Children’s Emmy Awards

PBS once again came out on top in the children's categories at the Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards, garnering 13 nods in the Creative Arts segment of the 40th annual awards show, which was held this past Friday in Los Angeles. Read on for a list of some of the key winners in kids categories.

PBS once again came out on top in the children’s categories at the Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards garnering 13 nods in the Creative Arts segment of the 40th annual awards show, which was held this past Friday in Los Angeles.

Making a big move from its two awards last year, kidsnet The Hub took home seven awards this year, tying Nickelodeon, while three awards went to Disney Channel, two to Cartoon Network, and one to Disney XD.

Sesame Street‘s six Emmy’s included wins for outstanding children’s preschool series, writing, direction, multi-cam editing and performer for a children’s series.

R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour The Series was a big winner for The Hub grabbing outstanding children’s series and costume design awards while George Lucas notched his first-ever Emmy win for the recently cancelled Cartoon Network series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
