Saban Brands has launched a brand new global consumer products division led by Kirk Bloomgarden, who has stepped into a new role as SVP of global consumer products.

The new unit, which melds Saban’s domestic and international licensing and merchandising teams, aims to grow the licensing programs of all of Saban Brands’ IP including Power Rangers and Paul Frank globally with increased strategic plans with licensees, retailers, broadcasters and agencies.

As part of the reorg, Nina Leong has moved into a new role as SVP of strategic business development and will be tasked with leading the efforts to expand the Saban Brands portfolio and looking for new brands across lifestyle and fashion.

Also taking on new titles are Mary Rafferty and Dan Wilson as VP of global consumer products and VP of global retail, respectively.

The company has also welcomed licensing veteran Brian Maeda, who joins as VP of licensing with responsibilities to grow Saban’s business in Asia focusing on toys and video games.

With the new global team based in the US, Saban also has plans to open new offices in London, England and Shanghai, China later this year.
