After a 15-year career at Disney, most recently as VP of content and programming strategy for Disney EMEA, Patricia Hidalgo has joined Turner International as its SVP and chief kids content officer for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

In her new role effective yesterday, Hidalgo will oversee all programming including acquisitions, co-productions, and originals, as well as channel branding, research and franchise projects, and cross-platform editorial compliance. She will report directly to Peter Flamman, Turner’s SVP and COO for EMEA, and MD of Kids EMEA.

During her time at Disney, Hidalgo found success by helping launch Disney’s first Telenovela for kids, rebranding the Playhouse Disney and Jetix channels and building a strong channel launch strategy for Italy. She began her career at Canal Plus Spain.

The hire comes on the heels of 30% job cuts across Turner International EMEA and Asia Pacific.
