With three children’s series already in development, Amazon Studios has now optioned youth thriller Bus 9.
Created by Ryan Klyftahn, the series is inspired by classic kids show Are You Afraid of the Dark? and R.L. Stine’s Goosbumps books. Bus 9 follows a group of elementary and middle school students on a school bus commute who pass the time by telling each other scary stories.
Klyftahn is an up-and-coming writer who submitted the Bus 9 concept via the Amazon Studios site, which just recently opened its doors to short film submissions.
