Nickelodeon has commissioned 20 additional episodes of its comedy Sam & Cat (pictured), which is currently ranked as the network’s number-one live-action series.

The iCarly and Victorious spinoff series, created by executive producer Dan Schneider (iCarly, VictoriousDrake & Josh, Zoey 101) airs regularly on Saturdays and is averaging 3.7 million viewers since launching on June 8. The premiere episode of the series hit the number-one spot on the iTunes TV episode chart.

Brand-new episodes of Sam & Cat will continue to roll out this year and will debut on global Nick channels beginning in October.

Similarly, 20 episodes of NFL Rush Zone, co-produced by Nickelodeon, the NFL and Rollman Entertainment, are also in the works. The animated show’s third season, NFL Rush Zone: Guardians Unleashed, based on the NFL’s online world for kids, will debut this fall on NickToons and NFL Network.

NFL Rush Zone is available on Nicktoons.com and NFLRUSH.com following each episode’s on-air premiere. And full-length episodes will also be available on the Nick App the day after premieres.

Meanwhile, new weekly episodes from season two of NFL Rush Zone: Season of the Guardians will return to Nicktoons on July 14 and will re-air on NFL Network on July 20. All 32 NFL teams will be showcased throughout the series, which continues to feature NFL Films game footage.
