2014 Kidscreen Awards accepting entries

The fifth-annual Kidscreen Awards celebrating excellence in the global children's entertainment industry for programming and broadcasting has officially opened up its 2014 call for entries with early bird entry fees in effect.

The fifth-annual Kidscreen Awards celebrating excellence in the globalĀ children’s entertainment industry for programming and broadcasting has officially opened up its 2014 call for entries with early bird entry fees in effect.

Entries are now being accepted for shows and their related websites aimed at preschoolers (ages zero to five), kids (six to 10) and tweens/teens (11 to 17) in the following programming categories: Best Animated Series, Best Non-Animated or Mixed Series, Best One-off, Special or TV Movie and Best Companion Website. The deadline for entries is September 13, 2013.

Special creative talent award winners for animation, directing, voice talent, writing, music, design and acting will also be selected by juries of highly respected entertainment professionals.

On the broadcasting side, Kidscreen will begin accepting entries for Channel of the Year, Best Channel Design, Best Channel Website, Best Integrated Promotion, Best Interstitial Campaign and Best On-Air Host. The entry deadline for broadcasting categories is October 18, 2013.

Kidscreen‘s editorial team will shortlist entries in these streams followed by an industry vote open to the magazine’s 10,000 readers to determine the final winners.

Kidscreen Awards 2014 winners in all categories will be announced at an evening ceremony and cocktail party as part of next year’s Kidscreen Summit set to take place in New York, February 9 to 12.

The early-bird entry fee for the programming categories is US$300 until August 16, and US$400 after August 16. For Channel of the Year, the early-bird fee is US$500 until September 13, and US$700 after September 13, while the early fee for the broadcasting categories is US$250 until September 13 and US$350 after September 13.
