Milan, Italy-based Atlantyca Entertainment’s newly established IP Agency has sold its first two titles from the company’s publishing catalogue to Belgium-based animation producer and developer AT-Anim.
AT-Anim, asubsidiary of AT Prod, has optioned the TV and film production rights along with licensing rights of two book series, Klinkus Bark and Cryptoanimals, in co-operation with Tinkertree, Dog House and Ulysses Production.
AT-Anim will introduce Klincus Bark’s development plan at this month’s Cartoon Forum, where a first peak at a bible along with character and background art will be on display. AT-Anim is seeking to produce a 26 x 13-minute animated series of Klinkus Bark that will be based on the 10-book series of the same name. The books are published by Italy’s Mondadori Group and to date have been translated into Spanish, Catalan, Brazilian, Dutch, Hungarian, Turkish and Thai.
Aimed at tweens, Cryptoanimals has sold more than 45,000 copies in Italy and, to date, to Spain, Brazil, Korea, Belgium, Russia, P.R. China, Greece and Turkey. Comprised of a series of four-books, AT-Anim will also develop an animated series or film based on the property.
Established earlier this year, Atlantyca IP Agency holds a library of children’s publishing content that’s comprised of concepts developed by Atlantyca’ own creative writing and production team.
