New York-based animation and media company FlickerLab has created a new animated series, entitled How the Body Works with Chloe and the Nurb, in collaboration with children’s wellness website KidsHealth.org.

Eight five-minute episodes have launched on the KidsHealth.org website – which draws more than 250 million parents, kids, and teens every year – and the content will be supported by quizzes and printable activities. Nine more  episodes will be added early next year.

Echoing sentiments of popular biological series The Magic School Bus, How the Body Works offers an animated way for kids to understand their bodies.  The series is set in Bodylandia, where giant eyeballs stride across the landscape and floating noses trumpet daily.

FlickerLab collaborated with the KidsHealth team to figure out how to convey complex information to young viewers. The companies are currently in discussions regarding international distribution opportunities for the animated shorts, as well as exploring the potential for an international co-production of a spinoff broadcast series.
