Cake slices Poppy Cat deal in Germany

Kids and family entertainment distributor Cake has inked a new deal for season one of the Coolabi-produced Poppy Cat. German broadcaster KiKA has agreed to take on TV rights for all German-speaking territories.

Kids and family entertainment distributor Cake has inked a new deal for season one of the Coolabi-produced Poppy Cat.  German broadcaster KiKA has agreed to take on TV rights for all German-speaking territories.

The 52 x 11-minute preschool series, which was just greenlit for a second season, has already been sold into 150 territories worldwide and is based on the international bestselling books of the same name by Lara Jones.

The series airs on Sprout (US) and commissioning channel Nick Jr. (UK) and has already been placed with Disney Junior in Spain and Latin America,

Other broadcasters include Al Jazeera Children’s Channel, e-vision (U.A.E), SVT (Sweden), S4C (Wales), EBS Korea, OKTO Singapore, Nickelodeon Australia, TVO (Canada), Knowledge Network (Canada), NRK (Norway), RTÉ (Ireland), CITV (UK) and France 5. The show’s second season will be delivered for spring 2014.
