Simon & Schuster’s children’s publishing division has introduced a Ready-to-Read Recommendation App that offers personalized book recommendations to early readers and is powered by online video platform Kidobi .
The web app, now available on Kidobi, is designed to match young readers ages three to eight with books at the optimal level of difficulty. It accomplishes this by analyzing the child’s age, interests and reading level. It then allows parents to create a customized list of books for their kids.
The app features popular titles including Olivia, Eloise and Mike the Knight, as well as favorites from children’s author Eric Carle.
Toronto, Canada-based Kidobi has been steadily beefing up its video content offerings through recent deals with German media companies, Spain’s BRB and UK-based Endemol. The Simon & Schuster partnership marks the platform’s first step at offering book recommendations to its users.
