London-based Cake Entertainment has struck a deal with The People’s Republic of Animation to co-produce a series based on the bestselling Fruit Ninja app.

Following the PRA’s acquisition this year by Halfbrick Studios, the creator and original developer of Fruit Ninja, the pair has been working on developing a series targeting the six to 11 demo.

Fruit Ninja has been downloaded more than 500 million times to date and boasts 70 million monthly active users. It’s also been the subject of a fairly robust global consumer products program.

Currently, there is no timetable for the delivery of the series.
