Toronto, Canada-based production and digital media company Sinking Ship Entertainment has launched a global distribution arm and has placed former Corus exec Lynn Chadwick at the helm as VP of sales and distribution.

Chadwick’s responsibilities include supporting existing partnerships and maximizing opportunities for the company’s future slate of live-action and animated series and original online content worldwide.

Chadwick’s 20-year career spans global program sales, acquisitions and broadcast. Before joining Sinking Ship, she was VP of network content acquisitions and pay TV at Corus Entertainment. Prior to that, she was with Nelvana Enterprises, first as VP of European sales and distribution based in London, then as VP of worldwide sales and distribution based in Toronto.

The launch of the distribution arm comes as the company prepares to handle its biggest production slate to date.

For one, Sinking Ship’s newest series, Annedroids, is set to launch in 2014 after being optioned via Amazon Studios and other international broadcasters. Annedroids is being distributed by Picture Box.
