Dragon-I to bring more talking toys to kids next year

With the holiday season in full swing, Hong Kong-based Dragon-I Toys is looking beyond to 2014’s Toy Fair season with a lineup of new tech toys – including a mobile-powered plush bear – and extensions of products based on licenses like Outfit7’s Talking Tom & Friends.

The company is set to premiere its new line of Toy-Fi Teddy at next month’s London Toy Fair. The plush bear harnesses Toy-Fi technology to communicate with mobile devices and send messages to family and friends via the bear.  The 12″-teddy bear utilizes a three-pronged communication and content delivery system and uses Bluetooth-based technology to connect to the cloud as well as to iOS and Android devices. The bear is slated for retail by mid-2014 with the suggested retail price is $29.99.

Dragon-I’s own toy chest brands includes Chatimals, which has already sold over three million units globally.  In 2014, the company will boost its Chatimals line with Cheeky Chatimals, which includes a hamster, monkey and a penguin, are available for a suggested retail price of US$19.99.

Lastly, the company will debut Talking Tom and Friends Talk Back Animation Plush Toy plush. Based on a selection of the popular apps, 2014 will bring Talking Tom and Friends Talk Back Animation in new packaging and a refined Talking Tom.
