Toy giant Mattel has announced the US multi-platform launch of Isabelle, its American Girl-branded 2014 Girl of the Year.
The launch of the brand-new ballet-dancing character will include a doll collection, available for one year, featuring a variety of accessories and outfits, as well as a design-studio armoire.
In addition, a live-action movie based on Isabelle books penned by author Laurence Yep will debut on DVD from Universal Studios Home Entertainment this summer.
For the IP’s online initiative, fans can visit americangirl.com/girloftheyear to further explore the Anna Hart School of the Arts, the Washington, D.C.-based performing arts school where 10-year-old Isabelle studies ballet. Site visitors can also unlock exclusive content based on the upcoming movie and can enter contests.
On the digital front, free and paid apps have been released on the Apple App Store, and a free downloadable online learning guide is available at americangirl.com.
Rounding out the launch, American Girl retail outlets will feature Isabelle-themed events including dance demonstrations, crafting activities, photo opportunities and giveaways throughout the year.
