BBC Worldwide takes The Next Step on global scale

Toronto, Canada-based Temple Street Productions' reality-style tween series The Next Step has been licensed by BBC Worldwide to Hulu in the US, CBBC in the UK, Disney Channel Australia, Sky Italia and Hrvatska Televizija/HRT in Croatia.

Toronto, Canada-based Temple Street Productions’ reality-style tween drama The Next Step has been licensed by BBC Worldwide to Hulu in the US, CBBC in the UK, Disney Channel Australia, Sky Italia and Hrvatska Televizija/HRT in Croatia.

Created by Frank van Keeken (Wingin’ It, Kids in the Hall), the scripted reality series follows the lives of a group of dancers at The Next Step Dance Studio as they attempt to win at the highest level of dance championships. The show, which is gearing up for a second season, ranked number one on Family Channel this past fall across all specialty stations in Canada.

Commissioned by Family Channel, The Next Step is produced by Temple Street and is executive produced by van Keeken, Ivan Schneeberg and David Fortier (Orphan Black, Being Erica, Wingin’ It). BBC Worldwide handles the international distribution of the series. The Next Step is also produced with the financial assistance from The Shaw Rocket Fund.
