The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is making some moves in its programming lineup by moving children’s series currently airing on main terrestrial ABC1 over to dedicated digital channels ABC4Kids and ABC3.

Beginning February 2, ABC4Kids will house all preschool programming and ABC3 will play home to school-aged programs, and both channels will continue to offer exclusive, commercial-free content. The initial February move will take children’s programming currently screening on ABC1 on Sunday mornings and weekday afternoons to either ABC4Kids and ABC3. From July 21, all educational programming currently screening on ABC1 weekday mornings will move to ABC3.

The move is designed to free up space on ABC1 for more general entertainment adult-skewing content.

The full new TV schedule for ABC TV is now available online.
