US Preschool network Sprout is growing alongside the burgeoning on-demand world with web streaming app Sprout NOW that will give channel subscribers access to content on multiple platforms.
All Sprout series, including original programming like The Chica Show and Noodle and Doodle and third-party content like Caillou and Sesame Street, will be available through Sprout NOW, which is also currently available in Apple’s App Store. An Android version is set to follow.
The launch of Sprout NOW is part of NBCUniveral’s ongoing strategy to reach viewers on multiple platforms, and the service derives its name from the company’s similar Bravo NOW offering. The announcement also comes just one day after Disney made waves with its new cloud-based streaming service.
