Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, which airs on PBS KIDS in the US, will see more shelf space stateside this year with an expanded toy line at Toys ‘R’ Us, as well as product launches at Target, Kmart and Barnes & Noble.

Daniel Tiger toys – from master toy licensee JAKKS Pacific – first launched exclusively at US Toys ‘R’ Us stores for the 2013 holiday season. The assortment will now broaden to include books, costumes and more.

Meanwhile, Barnes & Noble will launch a full line of books from master publishing partner Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing under its Simon Spotlight imprint, and Amazon will feature a range of goods. Branded products are also expected to reach Canadian retailers for the first time.

This year also marks the introduction of costumes from Disguise; an expanded range of toys from JAKKS Pacific; more offerings from University Games; and new Simon Spotlight book titles. More new categories and licensees will be announced soon.

The TV series from The Fred Rogers Company, Out of the Blue Enterprises and 9 Story Entertainment airs daily on PBS KIDS and is currently the number-one PBS program streamed online, with more than 40 million streams per month to mobile devices.
