It looks like The Hub is taking some leads from YouTube. The TV network is poised to premiere a new series this June dubbed Kid President: Declaration of Awesome, which stars YouTube personality Kid President (Robby Novak).
Ten-year-old Novak’s online videos, which have garnered more than 75 million views, have featured numerous guests ranging from President Obama to Beyoncé.
The online series is executive produced by The Office actor Rainn Wilson and Novak’s brother-in-law, the show’s creator, Brad Montague. And Wilson’s company, SoulPancake Television, will produce the Kid President TV series.
The Hub, which is no stranger to interactive content, says the series’ cross-generational appeal blends with its network philosophy and co-viewership base.
