UK-based Channel 5 is set to premiere Cosgrove Hall Fitzpatrick Entertainment’s first new 2D-animated preschool series, Pip Ahoy!, on its Milkshake block on June 12.
Produced at CHF’s new Manchester-based studio, the 52 x 11-minute series follows the adventures of a young puppy named Pip and his best friend Alba the kitten around seaside resort Salty Cove.
With distributor Monster Entertainment on-board to handle international sales, CHF has delivered the first 13 episodes to Channel 5 with the remaining episodes expected by March 2015.
Pip Ahoy! features a voice cast including Sir David Jason of Danger Mouse, Count Duckula and Wind in The Willows fame, as well as Teresa Gallagher (The Amazing World of Gumball, Octonauts), Emma Tate (Moshi Monsters , Horrid Henry) and Jimmy Hibbert (Danger Mouse, Toby’s Travelling Circus).
Channel 5 Milkshake brand creator, children’s media consultant and scriptwriter Nick Wilson leads the writing team for the series.
Cosgrove Hall Fitzpatrick Entertainment marks a new chapter for the Cosgrove Hall brand.
CHF Media Group originally formed in 2011 as a new company supported by private investors after Cosgrove Hall Productions was shut down by owner ITV in 2009. CHF Media Group then launched animation company Cosgrove Hall Fitzpatrick Entertainment under the leadership of creative director Brian Cosgrove, MD Simon Hall and president Francis Fitzpatrick.
With four new programs on its slate, including Pip Ahoy!, and new IP in the development oven, CHF is currently looking for broadcast and licensing partners in the UK and the US.
