For the second year in a row, the Children’s Media Conference will bring together UK-based IP owners, producers, writers, digital media specialists and service providers with broadcasters, distributors, funding groups and producers from around the world at its International Exchange on July 2 in Sheffield, England.

International collaboration and co-production opportunities will be the focus of the Exchange, which provides a dedicated platform for one-to-one meetings.

Among the global buyers attending the exchange at the 11th edition of the Children’s Media Conference are ZDF Junior (Germany), TV3 Televisio de Catalunya (Spain), NRK Super (Norway), VRT/KETNET (Belgium), Canal+ and France Televisions (France), YLE (Finland), CBC (Canada), CBeebies (UK) and TRT/COCUK (Turkey).

Hasbro International will also attend, along with digital companies Rovio Entertainment and China’s UYoung Media and Entertainment.

Delegates from North America scheduled to attend include Tricon Films & Television’s director of development and international sales Ashley Rite, Brain Power Studio owner Beth Stevenson, Shaw Rocket Fund’s Agnes Augustin and Breakthrough Entertainment executive producer Joan Lambur.

Additional delegates joining the Exchange are Rachel Davis, development executive at the Australian Children’s Television Foundation, Trevor Lai, CEO and creative director of China’s UP Studios, Imira Entertainment’s international sales and marketing manager Giles Bones representing Spain, Wildseed creative director Jesse Cleverly and media consultant Justine Bannister.

CMC is widely regarded as the premier event in the UK for supporting children’s media and this year’s conference is particularly timely as the new UK tax break for animation has given the industry a much welcome boost.

The conference, which will feature 50 conference sessions and masterclasses, also comes as London-based trade association Pact is in the midst of campaigning for a children’s TV tax break and will be a sponsor at this year’s CMC.
