MarVista Entertainment has acquired worldwide distribution rights to the new boy-skewing action series Heroes: Legend Of the Battle Disks from Japan’s Asahi Production (Blue Drop, Super Robot Wars Original Generation).

This animated series produced by Kosuke Harada, Hiroaki Taneoka and Asahi Production targets boys ages four to 10. It’s directed by Masahiro Hosoda (Dragonball Z The Movie, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh) and written by Junki Takegami (Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh, Power Rangers), with character designs by Yoshihiro Nagamori (Yu-Gi-Oh, Beyblade).

Heroes: Legend Of The Battle Disks follows a group of boys who live on Planet Aernia and train at an academy that teaches them how to become heroes. Following the deal, MarVista will debut the 26 x half-hour show at MIP Junior with the goal of finding potential partners.

This latest news comes on the heels of MarVista bringing aboard two new international sales execs, Rod Rodrigo and Andrew Whiteman. The company is also expanding its digital presence—it recently created a digital division to license  original and acquired content to online platforms.
