Toronto, Canada-based Guru Studio has formed a creative partnership with Baby Octopus, a new Australian company founded by entertainment industry veteran Diana Manson whose credits include Mr. Men, Olivia and Max & Ruby.

The first project on the development slate following this partnership is Pepi, a preschool/variety series based on a series of books by the same name from Laura Ljungkvist. The series, starring a curious cockatoo, will feature comedy sketches, running gags, bird dances and stylized visual bridges.

Guru Studio also recently expanded into the game space with the launch of Guru Arcade. The new division will develop original digital IP and brand extensions for various TV series including 3D games for Dinopaws, a preschool series that airs on CBeebies in the UK and Treehouse in Canada.
