World Wrestling Entertainment’s stop-motion animated web series WWE Slam City is heading to TV, thanks to a deal with Nickelodeon that will see the original short-form program debut tonight on Nicktoons’ new NickSports primetime programming block in the US.

Premiering during tonight’s weekly NickSports broadcast (9 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET), WWE Slam City is a co-production between WWE, Mattel’s Playground Productions and Stoopid Buddy Stoodios (Robot Chicken). At its center is a new WWE animated character, The Finisher, who fires all current WWE Superstars and sends them to WWE Slam City to find day jobs – picture John Cena as an auto mechanic or Randy Orton as a zookeeper.

Since launching in March in North America and the UK, the series has reached nearly 20 million views across various video platforms, including WWEslamcity.com, YouTube’s Cartoonium, WWE Network, Hulu, Kabillion, Nintendo and AOL.

A WWE Slam City toy line from Mattel was also unveiled at launch and a mobile game is expected for 2015.
