A new fearless flock of animated characters from Rovio Entertainment will be introduced to the world tomorrow (November 1) when Angry Birds Stella makes its series debut on Rovio’s popular video streaming platform ToonsTV.
The launch comes a week after the first episode of the 13 x six-minute series premiered exclusively within the Angry Birds Stella game for iOS and Android mobile devices.
Character reveals and gameplay trailers were also unveiled in advance of the series drawing more than 60 million views.
Angry Birds Stella follows the adventures of the pink heroine and her flock of friends, Poppy, Luca, Dahlia and Willow, as they go to battle against Stella’s good-bird-gone-bad and ex-BFF Gale.
New episodes of the series will be delivered every Saturday on ToonsTV, which has generated more than three billion views to date.
The series will then make its way to linear TV and additional VOD services in yet-to-be-announced deals.
Along with the Stella game, the property has already entered the world of toys with the Rovio/Hasbro Telepods collaboration and expanded into digital and physical books, as well as social media with an official @stellafriends Twitter account.
The series launch follows the announcement that Pekka Rentala will become Rovio’s new CEO after Mikael Hed steps down next year.
