Walt Disney Studios has made a deal with Google Play to enable users in the US to stream the digital versions of its movies on Android devices.

The distribution pact means titles from Disney, Pixar and Marvel purchased through Disney Movies Anywhere (DMA) will be integrated with Google Play. Consumers can watch them through the Disney Movies Anywhere app and website, as well as Google Play Movies & TV.

The launch of Disney Movies Anywhere on Google Play coincides with the release of Maleficent (pictured) and Disney’s animated feature Planes: Fire & Rescue.

Introduced earlier this year, Disney Movies Anywhere is a cloud-based digital movie service with more than 400 titles that also offers exclusive, original Disney, Pixar and Marvel short-form content.
