Paris-based Planet Nemo Interactive, the sister company of producer/distributor Planet Nemo Animation (What’s the Big Idea?, Groove High), has just launched BeeBooks, a new line of fully interactive book apps.

The initial BeeBook range, targeting kids three to seven, primarily features characters from Planet Nemo’s TV series and aims to promote reading, oral expression, coordination, concentration, curiosity and critical-thinking skills.

Ten iOS/Android titles (five based on preschool toon Bali and five on kids series Missy Mila) are rolling out now through December. Each one (US$2.99) features a range of interactive add-ons, including the ability to record narration and play games. Missy Mila―The Hidden Princess, Bali―Sailing For treasure and Bali―My New Friend Matthew are the first titles out of the gate.

Nemo’s Bali  has aired in more than 50 territories, including the US (WGBH), Australia (ABC), Germany  (KiKA) and France (France Télévisions, Disney), while Missy Mila is currently seen in France, Spain, Belgium and Korea.
