Spanish animation producer/distributor Imira Entertainment has inked a deal to launch its ImiraPlay app on Philips Smart TVs.

Forged with TP Vision, which manufactures Philips TVs for Europe and Latin America, the agreement sees Imira apps licensed for preloading onto all new Philips connected TVs across both territories.

Developed by Spanish programming firm Fractal Media, ImiraPlay is designed as a dual-language (English, Spanish) multiplatform app. And in addition to five of Imira’s original animated series (Lucky Fred, Sandra the Fairytale Detective, Lola & Virginia, Saari and Vitaminix), the latest version of the app includes third-party content like Tuba Entertainment’s Larva,  Pororo (Iconix) and City of Friends (CreaCon Group).

The latest move continues to boost Imira’s digital game. Earlier this year, the company rolled out ImiraPlay on Samsung smart TVs  and sealed several  VOD deals for Lucky Fred and Lola & Virginia.
