With its first season posting strong ratings among kids two to 11, and over 1.85 million downloads for its accompanying app, Disney is picking up animated series The 7D for a second season.

Following the antics of the Seven Dwarfs pre-Snow White, the series debuted in July on Disney XD. Since then, it has consistently ranked as a top-five show on the channels VOD app  WatchDisneyXD.

The series broadcasts daily in the US on Disney XD and will debut on Disney Channel’s Disney Junior block on December 26, moving to the 24/7 Disney Junior channel in early 2015.

Executive produced by Tom Ruegger (Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures), the show includes the voice talents of Kelly Osbourne, Disney legend Bill Farmer (the voice of Goofy) and Jess Harnell (Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins).

Mirroring the success of the show, The 7D Mine Train is the #1 app for iPad in the kids category in 44 countries.

So far The 7D has premiered on Disney XD in Canada, France, Spain, Italy, Russia, Israel, Southeast Asia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, India and Latin America, and will continue to roll out globally through 2015.
