Having kicked off with a year-one bang characterized by growth on new platforms, Hopster is rolling out its TV and learning platform in Ireland this month.

The expansion comes on the heels of the startup being recognized as one of Apple’s Best Apps in 2014 by the UK App Store. Hopster is now available on the Irish App Store for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch users, and to Panasonic Smart TV owners.

Supporting its Irish launch, the SVOD service has also picked up local indie series Rockabye Island, produced by Magpie6 Media and Monster Entertainment.

Since Hopster’s UK debut a year ago, it has racked up more than 200,000 downloads of its iOS app in the territory. In recent months, the platform also expanded its distribution to smart TVs and acquired the SVOD rights to The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child.
