In the lead-up to NATPE, which starts today, Toronto, Canada-based Nelvana Enterprises has just licensed more than 1,200 episodes from its catalog to broadcasters across Latin America.

Discovery Kids Latin America has snapped up Mike the Knight and the Journey to Dragon Mountain, the first direct-to-DVD feature-length adventure based on the hit animated preschool series Mike the Knight.

Discovery Kids Lat Am previously acquired all 52 episodes of Mike the Knight. The new movie, which made a digital-first debut on Hulu last September along with the series, is a Nelvana Studio co-pro with HIT Entertainment.

In addition, Mexico’s Televisa has purchased the second season of live-action comedy Mr. Young, while Beyblade Metal Fusion, Sidekick and Willa’s Wild Life have been acquired by Colombia’s Zebracom Internacional.

Rounding out the deals, Nueve Media has scooped up 6teen, Blazing Dragons, Grossology, Jane and the Dragon, Nancy Drew, Scaredy Squirrel and Sidekick for the Southern Cone, while Television Entertainment has acquired the rights to  season one of Berenstain Bears and book-based series George Shrinks for several Latin American territories.
