London-based boutique distributor Media I.M. has sold 500 episodes from its children’s animation catalog to leading broadcasters across Eastern Europe and CIS, including Robodz to Nickelodeon Russia and The Pooches (pictured) to Hungarian public broadcaster M2.

Russian prodco Studio Atria’s animated 15 x 11-minute comedy Robodz will debut in February 2015 on Nickelodeon in Russia, across the CIS and Baltic territories. The four-year deal spans 14 countries in total.

In Hungary, free-to-air M2 will air The Pooches, Melnitsa Animation Studio’s CG-animated series about a family of lovable dogs that has become one of Russia’s most popular evening children’s shows in 2015, along with Petersburg Animation Studio’s 51 x 13-minute sci-fi series Pin-Code, which is a spin-off of Kikoriki.

A third new deal sees Media I.M. license Kikoriki New Adventures (52 x 11 minutes), Pin-Code and The Pooches (52 x 4.5 minutes) to Serbian pay-TV broadcaster Ultra TV for Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia. The shows are set to launch this year.

The latest deals follow an agreement by Media I.M. in December with JKN Global Media to license six kids IP in Thailand.

Launched in April 2014 by former Viacom International Media Networks execs Maria Ufland and Irina Nazarenko, Media I.M. currently has a portfolio of more than 900 episodes of children’s animation. It has exclusive distribution agreements with a number of Russia’s top animation studios including Petersburg Animation Studio, Melnitsa Animation Studio, Studio Atria and Studio Nebo.
