Production has started on Disney Junior’s new animated preschool series Goldie & Bear.

Set to air this fall in the US on Disney Junior, the series follows the adventure of plucky Goldie and best pal Bear as they encounter well-known characters from fairy tales and nursery rhymes like Little Red Riding Hood, Humpty Dumpty and The Three Little Pigs.

Telling the tale of Goldilocks and The Three Bears from a new perspective, the importance of storytelling is central to the show’s curriculum, with eps offering new insights into its narrative and their underlying messages.

Starring as Goldie is Natalie Lander (The Middle), alongside Georgie Kidder (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) as Bear. Recurring guest stars include Lesley Nicol (Downton Abbey) as Fairy Godmother and Jessie star Debby Ryan as Thumbelina.

Goldie & Bear was created by kids book author Jorge Aguirre, whose credits include the Giants Beware! series, and developed for TV by Aguirre and Rick Gitelson.

Chris Gilligan (Frankenweenie) serves as supervising director and executive producer. The series is produced by Milk Barn Productions in association with Disney Junior.
