Toronto, Canada-based manga and comics producer AnimangaPLUS has teamed up with indie mobile developer Lima Sky in New York to create a set of comic apps based on Lima’s popular Doodle Jump brand.
The motion comics are part of the recently released Dynamite comic book series, featuring new adventures of Doodle, the eponymous star of the mobile game.
The first app, Doodle Jump Motion Comic, is now available on the Apple App Store for iOS devices and at the Google Play store for Android. Rolling out in multiple global territories, the app has more than 22 pages and lets readers flip through the graphic novel or use an animated mode to read.
New motion comic apps will be released roughly every two months, taking readers throughout the Doodle Jump universe.
This is the latest extension of the Doodle Jump brand, following Lima Sky’s collaboration with Nickelodeon last year to create a Doodle Jump SpongeBob SquarePants gaming app.
As for AnimangaPLUS, the company holds rights to a number of kids titles and distributes both animated and live-action products in multiple languages. The company has studios in both Toronto and Manila, Philippines.
