Filly Funtasia, the CGI-animated series from BRB Internacional and Dracco, has been picked up for broadcast in Italy.

Slated to air on Discovery’s K2 kids channel, the horse-centric series (26 x half hours) is based on Dracco’s popular Filly toy brand. It follows the adventures of a group of small ponies that attend a school of magic in the land of Funtasia.

Script writers include Sean Derek (The Smurfs), Noelle Wright (Sabrina, Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins), Dean Stefan (Penguins of Madagascar, Trollz), Jymn Magon (The Smurfs, Strawberry Shortcake), Johnny Hartmann (Monster High, The Nut Job, Bolts & Blips) and Frank Young (Totally Spies, Martin Mystery, Paw Patrol).

First announced in 2012, the series will build on the IP’s existing presence across toys, apps, stationery, candy and publishing categories.

BRB plans to shop the series at MIPTV (April 13 – 16) and is looking to develop the brand’s digital presence on platforms like YouTube, Smart TVs and VOD channels.
