The Lego Group has inked a multi-book, multi-year agreement with New York’s Little, Brown Books for Young Readers to bring some of its most popular brick-based brands to books and graphic novels.

Launching this fall in the US, the first installment in the publishing program will be a series of graphic novels.

Each novel (US$7.99 ) will be based on one of three properties from the brick maker: Lego Ninjago, Lego Friends and Lego Bionicle.

Aimed at kids ages six to 11, the books will feature original storytelling and adventures from the Lego universe. They’ll be available in trade paperback format and as eBooks.

To support the September release of the first novel, Little, Brown Books will run a pre-publication campaign that includes a major presence at San Diego Comic-Con (July 9 to 12), distribution of teaser chapter samplers and cross-promotion with the Lego Group.
