Looking to bolster its DC Comics licensing program, Warner Bros. Consumer Products UK has added new eyewear licensees and extended existing partnerships in textiles and personal care products.
Emporium Eyewear has inked a deal with WBCP UK to make DC Comics glasses for kids and will launch them in three phases. Classic Batman and Superman eyewear debuts at retail this summer, Justice League products follow in October, and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice-inspired eyewear launches in February 2016. Boots, Vision Express, Optical Express and ASDA will also sell products from the various ranges.
Home textiles manufacturer Character World is extending its offerings with a new Batman-sleeved fleece, as well as a duvet design designed so that a child’s head fits with the caped crusader’s body.
Personal care specialist Corsair has also extended its licensing partnership with WBCP UK for a new Batman range that will move beyond core toiletries and fragrances to include complementary lines, such as sponges and 2D Batmobile bubble bath, in order to reach boys seven to 14 and older gift-givers.
Corsair is also revamping its Superman range and will develop new collections for Justice League and Wonder Woman. All three are expected to launch in 2016.
