Toys ‘R’ Us has tapped 30-year retail merchandising veteran Reg McLay as SVP of the company’s Babies ‘R’ Us business.

Beginning March 30, McLay will lead the US merchandising team for Babies ‘R’ Us and drive product innovation and differentiation across stores nationwide.

Before joining the Wayne, NJ-headquarted toy retailer, McLay spent the past 20 years at Canuck retail chain Canadian Tire in a number of high-ranking roles, including most recently SVP of merchandise sourcing and innovation.

He also has experience in senior buying and operations roles from his days with now-defunct Canadian discount retailer Zellers.
