BBC’s landmark sci-fi series Doctor Who is heading to Disney XD’s  lineup for the first time this summer.

Disney’s tween-friendly channel has picked up seasons two through four of the show that stars David Tennant as an iconic time lord, and will kick it off with a special event broadcast of season two’s first ep on Saturday, May 9 following the Disney XD premiere of Fantastic Four. The next seven eps will roll out during a week-long daily programming stunt planned for June 13 to 20.

Episodes will also be accessible digitally from June 14 on through the WATCH Disney XD app for tablets, smartphones, home computers and internet-connected TVs.

Doctor Who originally ran for a staggering 26 seasons from 1963 to 1989 before re-launching with great success in 2005.

Seasons two through four of the revamped series first aired on the BBC between 2006 and 2008, and the second instalment was produced by the Beeb in association with the CBC in Canada.
