HarperCollins Children’s Books has renewed its global publishing agreement for Sanrio’s Hello Kitty, extending the license to cover Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

New publishing products under the renewal will include activity books and a line of books with photos of Hello Kitty and her favorite kittens and puppies. Also in the works is a range of high-end gift titles, including Icon, a book detailing the evolution of Hello Kitty’s style.

HarperCollins has been the home of Hello Kitty publishing since 2009. The deal covers activity, learning, gift and electronic titles for the iconic brand, which marked its 40th anniversary last year with a number of product collaborations and a fan convention.
