He still only works part-time, but Penn Zero’s life as an unlikely animated hero is about to get busier, thanks to a second-season pick-up from Disney XD.
Since premiering as a simulcast on Disney XD and Disney Channel US in February, Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero has been a hit with its core audience of kids ages two to 11.
Both show creators, Jared Bush (All of Us, Zootopia) and Sam Levine (Tarzan, Bolt), will be back to executive produce the second season, which will delve deeper into the main characters’ mysterious back stories.
Voice stars Lea Thompson (Back to the Future), who plays Penn’s mom, Penn’s dad Gary Cole (Veep) and evil villain Rippen, Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2), will also reprise their recurring character roles.
The series follows the adventures of Penn Zero, a boy who inherits the job of a part-time hero and, with his friends’ help, journeys to other dimensions to battle part-time villain Rippen and his part-time minion, Larry.
