Breakthrough Entertainment has started production on the second season of hit live-action comedy series Max & Shred for Canada’s YTV and Nickelodeon channels globally.

Thirteen new half-hour episodes are planned for the odd-couple bromance that follows the unlikely friendship between superstar snowboarder Max Asher (Annedroids’ Jonny Gray) and science whiz-kid Alvin “Shred” Ackerman (Life with Boys’ Jake Goodman).

Since debuting on Nick US and YTV in October, the teen series has become an international success, resonating with kid audiences in countries including Africa, Australia, Colombia, Italy, Portugal, Russia and the UK.

The series is made with financial support from Canada’s Shaw Rocket Fund and is executive produced by George Doty IV (iCarly, Victorious).

Executive producing for Breakthrough are Joan Lambur, Ira Levy, Peter Williamson, Nat Abraham and Michael McGuigan.
