Licensing heavyweight Dan Romanelli’s Romy Consulting, along with Jenerosity Marketing,  have been appointed worldwide L&M agents for 10-year-old specialty retail doll brand Blabla Kids. Additionally, L.A-based Lawless Entertainment has been named  to rep the brand for television co-production and distribution, globally.

Blabla Kids is a line of contemporary hand-knit dolls, accessories and home decor for kids, designed by Florence Wetterwald and handmade by Peruvian artisans. The products are currently sold at Blabla Kids’ flagship store in Atlanta, Georgia, and in more than 50 other countries.

Ex-Warner Bros. Consumer Products president Dan Romanelli and Jenerosity Marketing’s Jen Kramer are overseeing the development of a licensing program for the property based on its cast of collectible dolls, which each have their own backstory. Aimed at kids two to eight, Blabla Kids already has one deal in the hopper with Random House Books for Young Readers. The publisher is rolling out the first two titles (Peekaboo Pierre, Sleepy Little Wooly) of an original board book series in 2016, with two additional titles to follow in 2017.

Lawless, meanwhile, is working with the Blabla Kids team to develop an animated series based on the knit characters, and is currently seeking co-production partners for the project. There are also animated shorts currently available online, created by the Blaba Kids team.

The Blaba Kids brand includes soft dolls, rattles, finger puppets, mobiles and home decor line Petit Home (crib bedding, sheets, blankets, pillows, play pads).
