Henson grows consumer products ranks

Former DreamWorks head of global toys Federico San Martin has joined The Jim Henson Company as its new VP of global consumer products.

Federico San Martin, DreamWorks Animation’s former head of global toys, has joined The Jim Henson Company as its new VP of global consumer products.

San Martin has been tapped to oversee licensing activities for Henson brands like Dinosaur Train, Sid the Science Kid and Doozers, spearhead programs for new properties, and manage licensing for subsidiary Henson Independent Properties’ roster of third-party brands.

He joins Henson with more than 15 years of experience in entertainment licensing and toys, including his most recent role at DreamWorks, where he was key in developing retail programs for properties like How to Train Your Dragon.

Prior to that, he worked at Warner Bros. Consumer Products, managing more than 60 licenses. He also served as associate product manager and senior analyst at Mattel and as a brand manager at Pop Rocket (formerly Equity Toys).
